1G/2G Eclipse Parts: Shipping and Credit Card Info

We have arguably the strictest credit card usage and shipping policies on the web. Please take the time to read through this page before ordering. You may find our restrictions a pain to deal with, but the added security it provides us also allows us to keep lower prices for the honest people out there.This page is linked from every page of the catalog section of the web site and every other main page. There is no reason to not know our policies. We do accept credit card orders, Visa, Master Card, and Discover for mail ordering parts. We do not accept American Express. As a rule, we do not ship C.O.D. Click here for information on using PayPal. Click here for information for international orders. Please understand the following criteria for credit card usage: 1. Shipping must be to the person and address that are on file with the credit card issuer. If you need to have the parts shipped to an address that is not listed with your credit card company, please call your credit card company and ask them to add the address as an "alternate" or "secondary" billing address. That way we can call them and verify that it is a good address to ship to. It only takes about 5 minutes on the phone for you, 99% of the credit card companies will do this. Then we can ship it to your work or where your wife works. This will help you with buying from other places too. If for some reason you can not do this, send a money order, then we can ship anywhere since the parts will be pre paid. 2. All orders shipped UPS Ground. Air options are available for repeat customers only, using the same credit card and shipping to the same address as previous orders (more than 2 weeks prior!). We do not have the time to properly do all the necessary security checks for new customers to be able to ship orders the same day or possibly the following day. If you are a new customer in Hawaii or Alaska, your order will ship 2nd Day Air but your order will NOT leave the day you place it. International customers (except Canada) will also ship Air; please see our special restrictions for foreign orders. If you are a prior customer, please mention that you want your order shipped by air (at a higher freight charge, of course) and also your time constraints. Make sure you give us a phone number where you can be reached between 11-3 Pacific time. We'll do our best to meet your time requirements, but if we can't we want to be able to let you know. Regular UPS Ground delivery takes 3-6 business days depending on where you live. Unfortunately air shipping is too often used by credit card thieves to get the parts there before the credit card can be reported stolen. Read more about the reasoning behind this here and here. Air options are available for repeat customers only, using the same credit card and shipping to the same address as previous orders (more than 2 weeks prior!). 3. Please do not use other peoples cards - fathers', mothers', ex-wives', room-mates', etc. If your name isn't on the card, we can not accept it. 4. When ordering by credit card, please be sure we have all phone numbers necessary to find you 24 hours a day (in case we forget to ask you). We need these because if there is a problem with the card, and we cannot find you within 2-3 phone calls, we can not process your order, nor continue looking for you. The phone numbers are also one of the criteria for checking credit card validity. 5. To all of the honest customers we have, all we can do is apologize for the restrictions. They are necessary for our protection, as well as yours. To all of the thieves and low-life's out there, thanks for screwing everything up for all of us who choose to work for a living, live honestly, and treat other people fairly. We honest people can only protect ourselves as best possible, and hope that you will one day get what you deserve. It seems that most people do not understand that when a stolen card is used in mail order, that it is NOT the credit card company that eats it! -- IT IS THE BUSINESS THAT ACCEPTED THE CARD!!!! Simply stated, when we get burned, the credit card company is not out a single DIME - WE LOSE IT ALL. These thefts must be absorbed into operating costs, which then determine pricing structures, and whether the business can continue to exist!!!

Ordering-
Orders may be placed Monday through Fridays, Noon to 7:00 P.M. Pacific time.
On-Line orders can be placed anytime. We try to view our incoming mail several
times a day and often throughout the weekends when we are not racing. Orders for
in-stock parts shipped the following day if you are a prior customer. New
customer in-stock orders will ship the following day at the soonest, or possibly
one day later if we have any trouble verifying your information with your bank
or confirming your shipping address with the shipping company.
Payment-
Orders may be charged with your Visa, Master card
and Discover. We do not accept American Express,
Ordering by mail-
You need to include information of year, make, model, engine, type of
driving done, etc. etc.. Full name, address, phone numbers are also necessary.
We suggest sending a certified check, cashiers check, or money order for your
order. Personal checks, or Money Orders that look like you printed them the
night before on your laser printer, require a minimum of two weeks to clear
before the parts order can be processed.
Shipping -
All shipments will be sent by UPS whenever possible. UPS can not deliver to P.O. Boxes. We
must have a physical street address. If your credit
card billing address is a PO box, you will need to
add your street address to your credit
card as an alternate/secondary address. Most banks
are willing to do this, and once you have added the information you'll let me
know and I can call and verify it (except Wells Fargo or Pay Pal
credit cards, they won't verify anything - sorry. We
hate them, and suggest a different credit
card or a money order), then we can ship the order
out.
International Shipments -
Orders must be prepaid in U.S. funds. Call, write, or Fax in advance to obtain
the total cost of the order and shipping. All duties/import fees/border fees are
the sole responsibility of the customer. This includes Canadian customers. A
street address is required.
Returns -
All returns must be pre-approved by Road
Race Engineering. The parts will be inspected by
Road Race Engineering
and if in satisfactory condition, we will issue a credit
within 72 hours. A 20% restocking charge will be charged on all returns due to
customer error or any problems not caused by Road/Race.
If you receive the wrong part, we will send a replacement by UPS Ground, and include a pre-paid label to return the incorrect part.
Refused Shipments -
The customer is responsible for freight (both ways) on any shipment refused
for any reason. No future orders will be processed until the customers account
has been cleared. Future orders must be prepaid in full.
Cancellations -
Any canceled orders will be charged to the customer at the cost incurred by
Road Race Engineering at
the time of cancellation.
Returned Shipments -
Any returned items that were not deliverable due to lack of payment, or not
in 3 attempts, must have shipping paid both ways by the customer before any
future orders will be processed for the customer.
Sales Tax -
California residents will be charged 9.75% sales tax on all purchases.
Backorders -
Will be shipped as soon as possible. If you would like a refund instead of
waiting, please let us know.
Warranty -
Parts cannot be warranted beyond the warranty of the manufacturer, when not
manufactured by Road/Race.
Any products found to be defective in workmanship or materials will be repaired,
exchanged, or replaced at the sole option of Road
Race Engineering, after inspection and approval.
Road/Race is liable for
only the cost of the part(s) supplied, not for any additional expenses incurred
such as labor, lost time, or other parts damaged.
Damage Claims -
The carrier is responsible for delivering merchandise in satisfactory condition.
All deliveries should be inspected, any damage pointed out to the carrier, and
call us immediately. Road
Race Engineering cannot replace merchandise damaged in shipping if you do
not call us and keep all packing materials.
Shipment Inspection-
Please inspect your your shipment immediately upon receipt. If there is an
error, please notify us within 5 days for an exchange or replacement. After 5
days, any exchange or replacement requests may incur shipping or other charges
to the customer.
Note: Many special order items are NOT returnable, and there are NO RETURNS ON ELECTRICAL ITEMS
Prices-
All prices are subject to change without notice. The "most" (but not
necessarily 100%) current price list is available from the
Road Race Engineering
web page.
Please DO NOT call and ask us for tracking numbers, especially right after you've placed your order. We cannot give out tracking numbers because some people try to change the address we've shipped to which a) costs us $7.50, and b) can circumvent the safety measures we've taken to make sure we've shipped to the billing address on your credit card. This is a big enough problem that both our credit card processor and UPS have warned us not to give tracking numbers out. IF your package is late (more than 2-3 days west of the Rockies, 5-6 days anywhere east of that) e-mail us and we will track the package for you. If you call, often we can not drop everything and look up the invoice, look up the tracking number and track it all while you are on hold. We will take your information and call you back. Best is to e-mail the request.
Again, to those honest customers out there that just want to have fun internet tracking (although Ground packages are often scanned only once when they leave) their package across the country, we're sorry.
We normally get the order ready, weigh the package, check the zone, and look the charge up on the UPS charts. This is quite hard to do on a telephone order (the parts are not in our hands, the scale is in the next room, the box size isn't determined yet, etc. etc.). We therefore make an educated guess and correct it when we have all the information ready. This is completely impossible for us to do when a customer is filling out our order form.
Shipping options by UPS: Regular Ground, 3-Day Ground, 2-Day Air, 1-Day Air.
Insurance: 35 cents per $100 over $100
Oversize: If the box is large it is charged at 30 pounds minimum for ground
When you are mailing in an order with a Money Order or Cashiers Check, you need to have ENOUGH shipping to allow us to process the order. Please send us an e-mail with your planned order so that we can give you a price including shipping.
A $500 exhaust system in one box to the east coast with insurance is $45. A $350 electronic boost controller across the country is $9.50. A 16-G turbo is about $14 ground with insurance.
Whenever a person calls UPS and requests a different address for delivery, UPS charges the SHIPPER $7 ($10 on Air shipments)!!! That is why all of our boxes are labeled with a "Do not change address" sticker. They still charge us, so we get to hassle with them about twice each month to reverse all the charges.
To help keep expenses down, we try to recycle most usable boxes we receive. Please remember no new boxes are free, and some of the larger ones can cost upwards of $18 each and require 15 or 20 minutes to get the order ready to go out.
So please bear with us - we try to be very real on our shipping
charges, just remember there is a lot involved to come up with that simple
shipping charge on your invoice.
