Back to back dyno runs with a stock '00 Eclipse GT. Car was completely
stock and a California model with the more restrictive pre catalytic
converters. |
|
This run shows us shifting the SportTronic transmission manually (red)
vs letting the computer do it. We hit the rev limiter at the top of
first gear before we could shift. The computer did a nice job and kept
the car in the torque better. The big spikes occur at a shift point and
help explain the big peak torque number in the graph above. |
|
Now this is more like it. A 5 Spd Eclipse GT but still a California
model. HP is 170 at the wheels. The car has a straight through muffler
installed on the stock piping. Also a drop in K&N filter element
inside the full stock air box. |
|
This dyno chart also has the Air/Fuel ratio laid in against the torque
curve. It starts out a little lean, looks good through the middle and
goes way too rich at the top end. O2 sensor voltage through the run was
1.0v. Even turbo cars run great at .94 v (leaner). |
In the Sportronic dyno run the results were all over the
place as the temperature varied. Hotter made as much as a 8 hp loss.
With this run the losses were more like 3-4 hp at the most. We attribute
hotter ATF fluid to the greater losses with temperature on the
Sportronic car. |
