I had a great time at the IDRC event today. I sat in the stands for 2 hours
and these
are the pics of race trucks I was able to take.
Here is a pic of the race truck leaving the line. For their weight, they go
pretty good.
On close inspection, you can see all the modifications made to the trucks for
Import
racing.
The Sweeper Truck is the most popular race vehicle. Right before it comes
out,
everyone starts cheering. It makes several runs each hour. The white pick
up was
second I think. It has to go slower for the fat guy in the back to spray broken
import
compound on the track. Seems if they dont scatter the special fairy dust and
the
busted parts treatment, the support vehicles that make the racing possible would
be
forced to make several passes in a row. It is the tireless efforts of the
support vehicles
in oiling down the track and sprinkling debris that keep the race trucks going
all day.
The race trucks get to come back down the track slowly, whereas the cars that
put the oil
onto the track for the race trucks to race on have to go down a side road to the
pits.
Once in the pits, the support cars re-fill with oil so they can prep the track
for the race
trucks
This race truck had the best graphics and was the fastest. by far. There were
so many
chicks around it all the time you could only get a pic of it in the staging
lanes.
