Honda Robert @Pacific Tuner Car Championship

Honda Robert’s write up on racing Pacific Tuner Car Championship:

From SCE

I wanted to thank the hardiest working man in the automotive industry Mike Welch, owner of Road Race Engineering for the 100% support, encouragement and guidance. I wouldn’t have been able to race this weekend this weekend without him. If you never had the opportunity to meet Mike Welch, you would be amazed of the extant that he goes to in order to help others. I also need to thank the Technicians at RRE, Lod, Sam, Ruben and even my competitor Joon Maneg, for staying up with me till 4:30 am in the morning, the day of the weekends practice/race as they made sure my car was in proper working order.

Trackside Support: Thank you Mike Welch, Sam, Lod, (Frank & Christ from LA DSM) for showing up to the track on there own time to help me out.  It was also great to see Simon Liu and Matt Dennison at trackside, thanks for stopping by the pits.

It was a very long weekend; I went through 48 hour “Charlie Sheen style” binge of drink Red Bulls to stay awake, resulting in dehydration and very painful leg cramps, but in the end it was well worth it.
Despite a misunderstanding at the start of the race that lead to a black flag and a Stop & Go plenty, I was able to finish in second in my class after it was determined that another competitors wasn’t on the correct tires.
I was very luck not to  have suffered any major mechanical malfunctions.

Thank you to the whole staff from MotoIQ.com for writing an amazing article, I couldn’t have put the story in better words. The following link will explain the weekend’s race activities in the Inaugural Moto IQ Pacific Tuners Car Championship Race, that’s part of the Red Line Time attack. For those that are not familiar with this series, it’s a power to weight ratio series with 30 minute race.
